The Growers Story

GNS has been used in the Agriculture Industry for 45 years. Now Growers With Envi is offering their product and expertise to the domestic and industrial communities.

It started in the early 1920’s when Dr. Victor Tiedjens PhD discovered nutrients must be in a liquid form to be utilized by plants, he first dissolved dry forms of fertilizer in water. This was the beginning of his life long search for better, more efficient and economical ways of getting plant nutrients to crops while still being compatible with Mother Nature's ways. Through the years he continued to expand and refine those early ideas and eventually developed the finished product we today call Growers Nutritional Solutions. In 1955, Growers Chemical Corporation was founded by Dr. Tiedjens, Joseph Henry and George Ward. Today , GNS is still a privately held corporation with Joseph Henry as its owner. Mr. Henry’s years in the Agricultural industry helps him and his company understand the problems facing agriculture and the environment. GNS is used in 32 states, 3 provinces in Canada, Viet Nam and Australia.

Dr. Victor Tiedjens experimented with the use of liquid and dry fertilizers and since 1923 he has been recognized as one of the leading plant nutrition specialists in the world.

In 1931, Dr Tiedjens was an early researcher of aqua ammonia as a source of nitrogen for plants. He was the director of the Virginia Truck Experiment Station and U.S.D.A. Coordinator for research laboratories at Germantown , Pennsylvania and at Charleston, South Carolina. Dr Tiedjens also pioneered hydroponics growth techniques while working Standard Oil of New Jersey in Aruba and Curaccao in the West Indies.
